Kate Miller

Kate specializes in holistic services for women seeking to improve their well-being and live authentically. She offers integrative reflexology, Reiki, lymphatic drainage of the face and neck, wellness consultations with Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils, and guidance in spinal lengthening to improve physical functioning throughout the body as well as optimal energy flow.

Passionate about healthy living and functional health care, Kate invites you to experience a client-based approach to bodywork. An excellent way to facilitate healing of the body, mind, and spirit, Kate's integrative style of massage incorporates techniques from various modalities, including acupressure, reflexology (feet/facial), hot stones, trigger point work, CranioSacral Therapy, NMT, Swedish, and Myofascial Release. Since graduating from the North Carolina School of Natural Healing in 2005, she has been practicing as a Certified Massage Therapist, licensed first in Alabama and now Virginia.

Kate values empathy and listening, which deeply informs her practice. She entered the field of massage therapy after experiencing the loss of her older sister, and working in the social work realm for several years. These experiences increased her desire to offer very tangible support to individuals going through difficult transitions. Completing a certified program in Kundalini Yoga was also part of that journey. In more recent years, Kate has dealt with her own back pain, leading her to explore the Gokhale Method which emphasizes spinal lengthening. The complexities of the body fascinate her, and she continues to learn from CE courses and direct experiences with clients.

In addition to bodywork, Kate greatly enjoys the movement arts, especially yoga and dance (Nia). Her other interests include nutrition, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, local foods, gardening, Spanish, creative community-building, and green living. She named her business "be" to challenge herself and clients to take time to pause and recharge; to relinquish the pressure of doing; to sink in and be fully present.
